Work and Witness

Africa Nazarene University is blessed to have teams from different Nazarene churches and other affiliate institutions visit the campus regularly to help out in the building and development of the institution.

Missionaries and NIVS

Because Africa Nazarene University is a Christian institution, we require nurturing by Christians dedicated to the work of God. The Church of the Nazarene sends missionaries and the NIVS (Nazarenes In Volunteer Service) to serve at ANU in addition to our current staff members. These are people who are fully dedicated to the work of God. They give their time, money and talents in the service of God here at Africa Nazarene University.

Missionaries usually come to serve in the university for a couple of years, while the NIVS come to serve for a trimester or two. They usually serve in various capacities in different departments of the university: faculty, administration, library, estates, finance, students’ welfare, etc.

These two categories of people play a very major role in the university. They bring with them their expertise and talents and blend these with their Christian faith.  While they are attached to the university, some missionaries and NIVS stay within the Campus. This gives the ANU community ample time and opportunities to interact with them, thus widening our exposure to different cultures. Many NIVS and missionaries have had a great impact on the lives of both students and staff as mentors and role models because of their exemplary work, service and Christian values.

Due to the friendly atmosphere at ANU, many missionaries and NIVS come back several times. This shows their commitment to the development of the university.
